Art Director (Interactive)
We’re looking for an Art Director who has a portfolio we’d want to steal. You will be responsible for collaborating on strategic planning, conceptual development and the execution of creative for the web. You will have a strong working knowledge and experience in online branding, user-centric design, e-commerce and e-marketing. You will work and collaborate with strategists, information architects, writers, designers, developers, and external suppliers while balancing the collaboration/interaction with the other Karo disciplines.

Information Architect
You have talent and enthusiasm for making the complex simple.
As an information architect you help determine content and functionality and how people will find information in a web site by defining its organization, navigation, labeling, and searching systems.
You are familiar with interaction design, user research, functional specifications, business analysis, content planning, and interface design. You have a respect for usability and accessibility, and the skills to help the project team balance these among other competing requirements. You have worked at a strategic level, helping to establish the mission and vision for large sites, including how they change and grow over time.
Nothing stops you from learning -- you bring some extra breadth of experience to the role, such as strong copywriting, design, social media or coding skills.
Show us that you have a passion for great user experience design and a desire to grow. We are open to candidates seeking contract/freelance work as well.
Your experience
- 2+ years experience as an information architect working on complex websites, interaction/experience designer, user researcher, or similar role
- Can produce these types of deliverables:
- Use cases/scenarios
- User personas/task analysis
- Site maps, wireframes, process flows
- Business analysis/features/requirements
- Functional specifications
- Communicate very well whether spoken, written, or graphically
- Involved in IA trends and community
- Skilled with Omnigraffle, VISIO or similar tools
- Familiar with Content Management Systems (CMS) and dynamic web applications
- Familiar with basic web technologies such as HTML, CSS, PHP or .NET and how these technologies enable interactive web sites and applications
- Education: Bachelor’s degree in related field

Experienced Web Software Developer / Team Lead
We're looking for an experienced software developer to lead our multi-faceted team of web developers.
Split your time between being the lead developer on our web application and content management projects while also working to foster best practices and processes throughout the group.
You need to have an unquenchable interest for finding better ways of developing sophisticated visual and functional designs. You are an expert in a broad range of web technologies, it's a bonus for you if the projects you work on seek visual and functional elegance as well technical elegance, and are experienced in working on a team with a visual designer and other developers. You know what works (and why) and are keen to steer people towards the best possible solution.
You are also experienced mentoring junior and intermediate developers, and have the communication skills to work closely with account management teams and clients.
Responsibilities
- Leading project technical analysis including the refinement of requirements, timeline and budget guesstimating, and the selection of tools to support implementation.
- Development of web applications, databases and management of the tools to support this
- Implementation of and mentoring in best practices for the technical and organizational (e.g. management) aspects of software development projects.
- Creation of technical documentation and processes to manage technical documentation.
- Working as a team member and leader, contributing ideas, learning from others, and mentoring junior and intermediate web developers.
Requirements
- Experience mentoring team members and in the establishment of best practices for software development teams.
- Excellent coding skills, including the ability to work with and troubleshoot code written by others.
- Extensive experience with server-side technologies such as ASP, ASP.NET, PHP and databases such as MySQL and MS SQL.
- Experience with client-side technologies such as HTML, CSS, JavaScript, JSON and XML and experience combining all of these into "AJAX".
- Understanding of and respect for User Interface and Graphic Design.
- Experience with template driven Content Management Systems.
- Experience as a Flash developer would be an asse.t
- Familiarity with Source Code Control Systems.
- Degree in Computer Science, technical diploma or related experience.

Your experience

- Advanced understanding of HTML, CSS, JavaScript & frameworks such as jQuery

- Experience with Photoshop, Illustrator; Flash would be great too
- Familiarity with Web Standards and DOM
