How do we celebrate Alberta’s commitment to recycling while educating a new generation of recyclers?

ABCRC

The Beauty of Recycling

We learned that most Albertans are predisposed to recycle their beverage containers, but may not know much about the process itself, or what good comes from recycling.

So we set out to show them the good they’re doing with a campaign called The Beauty of Recycling.

We enlisted local artist Sasha Foster to bring the beauty of recycling to life.

Then we decided to go bigger.

Knowing the positive impact of an in-person experience, we worked with artists Cory Barkman, Christine Pedersen and Jeff de Boer to create a 15-foot tree inspired by our earlier pieces.

The tree, called Return, is currently touring Alberta to celebrate the Beauty of Recycling.

Then we reinvigorated ABCRC’s School Recycling Program in a format custom built for school kids.

A team of recycling robots teamed up for a comic book adventure to get grade 4 students across the province inspired.

Introducing The Recyclers.

Along with backstories for each character, we created an entire comic book devoted to the adventures of our recycling robots, as they go town to town helping kids and turning recycled beverage containers into new products.
