MBU - Modern Burner Unit

THE CHALLENGE    Teleflex manufactures and distributes state-of-the-art transportation products for use in both military and private sector markets. Karo was asked to help Teleflex design an enclosure for a new coolant heater. This multi-burner unit (MBU) needed to be rugged, cost-effective and easy-to-use in order to appeal to its military market

THE KARO SOLUTION    Karo worked with Teleflex to create a rugged, industrial enclosure for the MBU, which functions as a block heater, passenger heat source, barbeque or oven, while maintaining a contemporary appearance. A simple, efficient user interface ensured that the product would be easy to operate correctly, even under extreme conditions.

THE RESULT    In order to win a competitive contract with the US Military, Teleflex needed to produce a working prototype of the MBU as part of the bid process. After winning the exclusive contract, the MBU has become one of Teleflex’s primary products. It has since been adopted for use by the US Army, US Marines and the Canadian Military.
