Karo Office Calgary

THE CHALLENGE    When Karo decided to move in to new space in the spring of 2005, the design of the new office and studio was a priority: we wanted the space to be efficient, cool and even fun—all while displaying Karo’s depth and breadth of design experience.

THE SOLUTION    The move allowed us to reflect the changes within Karo over the past 30 years. We first solicited ideas from Karo partners and staff to keep away from “typical” office designs. We wanted to update the form and function of our previous office, even departing from traditional construction materials. For example, the DIRTT curtain walls used throughout Karo change a traditional boundary into an organic element of the new space. The DIRTT wall in our main boardroom is able to support furniture, storage, shelves, lights and more, and can evolve along with Karo itself.

THE RESULT    Karo’s new office atmosphere reflects the efficiency, elegance and eccentricity of a modern design agency. Our Environments team created a setting where clients and associates—not to mention staff—encounter a stimulating brand of creative professionalism.
